Description: This single day hike takes up in aeolian castles of Konorchek valley located 125 km East of Bishkek - capital city of Kyrgyzstan. According to legend Aeolus was a god of wind and the castles are the result of erosion: wind and water, which lasts 1.5-2 million years and still creating interesting formations. Further ahead within a 2 day walk distnace there are Grand Canyons of Konorchek. Looking a lot like US based Grand Canyon some carry specific names which refer to the scenery: hiroshima, bobsleigh, sky scraper, fairy tail, grand canyon and Aeolus castles. The hike provides the travelers with beautiful and picturesque scenery of Kyrgyz range.
Route: The route begins with 125 km drive to Bo'om valley by Bishkek - Issyk-Kul lake road. From here the trail continues another 7 km up through the dry canyon to Aeolus castles - the part of the larger system.
